Apple gears up for mobile advertising

• Apple’s iAd net­work expands bey­ond the US and UK
Developers report ad impres­sions from coun­tries around the world

Apple appears to have star­ted a global roll-​out of iAds — its in app advert­ising ser­vice. Developers report see­ing ad impres­sions from new global loc­a­tions. Until recently, the ser­vice was only avail­able in the US and United Kingdom.

This fol­lows reports in the sum­mer that Apple was hir­ing staff for the “iAd Cre­at­ive & Strategy team” based in New York

Apple’s iAd web­site states, iAd reaches mil­lions of iPhone and iPod touch users around the world.” The com­pany reports hav­ing over 160 mil­lion iTunes accounts across 23 coun­tries, although Apple have not con­firmed whether iAds will be avail­able in all these countries.
